This seminar is aimed at those in the workplace who may be asked to handle the professional consequences of medically-approved cannabis use. Prospective students may include, but are not limited to: Supervisors, Union Representatives, Human Resources Staff, Health and Safety Professionals and even those with First Aid certification. Students will be outfitted with knowledge and methods necessary to managing the complex topic of medical cannabis, as well as the guidance necessary to both satisfy a safe work environment and government regulation.

The course begins with an outline of Canada’s history with “medical marijuana” and how it as evolved in this new legalized industry. Unlike recreational use, medically endorsed cannabis usage typically must be accommodated by an employer (as long as it is safe to do so)-- this takes many forms, so our course survey is extensive. From case law to regulatory framework, Managing Medical Marijuana in the Workplace will assure confidence when successful students go on to create policy in their own job.
